About
At Seedling Nature School we help children engage with their creativity through fun and educational activities.
Our History
We have grown from our first group of 7 children in 2017 to our current service which caters for over 50 children in total.
Our ECCE Preschool which started in 2018 now accommodates 22 children and we have space for up to 36 After-schoolers in two groups.
We are passionate about nature play and outdoor learning and we take pride in providing weekly Forest School Sessions for each of our age groups
Our Staff
We are very proud to have a highly qualified and extremely dedicated team of Preschool and Afterschool teachers.
Our educators are chosen following a rigorous recruitment and selection process as well as the relevant garda vetting and reference checks.
The current team have a combined skill set ranging from cooking, baking, art, farming and gardening to forest school skills such as tool work, fire making, basket weaving and more.
Seedling Nature Schools Staff are supported to continue their professional development while working with us.
Alongside their practice, our team are training with Hibernia, Mary Immaculate College, Circle of Life Rediscovery, Tusla and the Forest School Association.
The courses vary from one day personal skills developments to two year university qualifications.
Our Students
We provide for children of all stages of learning.
We encourage those of our local community, with different abilities and backgrounds, we have a large membership from the Limerick Educate Together School.
“It’s not only the plants that blossom at Forest School!
I have seen pupils of all abilities and with varying levels of need, thrive in this outdoor wonderland. Messy pay, construction, exploring and climbing are the order of the day and pupils are encouraged to ‘figure it out’ themselves, wherever possible. Time and again, I’ve seen pupils who can be hesitant in the regular classroom, rise to the challenge in the forest and it is a joy to watch their confidence grow.
Wish they had Forest School when I was growing up.” LETS Teacher
Our Community
Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong parent partnerships. Whether we’re close to home or near the office, our center is ideal for busy working families and easy to get to – for pick-up and drop-off or to stop in for a visit.
A strong relationship with our families is important to us. You are invited to take part in our family visit and seasonal events, stay for a chat at pickup time and hear about your child’s progress during parent and teacher meetings. Our parents have contributed invaluable skills such as building and garden maintenance, photography, music and more. If you have a skill you are willing to share we would love to hear from you.
Our communications to you:
- Weekly what’s app group updates
